  1. Methods of enrolment:

Direct admission: 10% of the total quota;

Admission using the results of the High School Graduation Exam: 50% of the total quota;

Admission using the High School Transcript results: 40% of the total quota.

 

  1. Admission requirements:
  1. Direct admission:
  • Application submission deadline: 15 August 2020
  • All candidates must be qualified to be recognised for graduation by the Ministry of Education and Training, and fall into one of the following categories:
  • Members of the team competing in the International or Asian Olympiad and/or Asian or Intel ISEF
  • Students who have been awarded Consolation Prize or higher at Provincial Contest for High School Students whose winning subject is included in a combination of subjects accepted for a discipline/training programme shall be directly admitted to such discipline/programme. For those who are awarded prizes in Informatics, they shall be directly admitted to all disciplines/training programmes except English Language and Pharmacy.
  • Students who have been awarded Consolation Prize or higher at Provincial ISEF shall be directly admitted to discipline/programme related to the content of the winning project (at the University’s discretion);
  • Students who do not go to specialist high schools in provinces and cities that have an average GPA of the first five semesters of high school at 8.0 or higher; and have an average GPA of 8.0 or higher in the subjects in the combination of subjects for admission;
  • Students who go to specialist schools in provinces and cities (or schools with specialist classes recognised by the People’s Committees of provinces/cities) whose average GPA in the first five semesters of high school of all subjects in one combination of subjects for admission comes to a sum of 21 or higher shall be directly admitted to all disciplines/programmes that have their specialist subject in one of the combinations of subjects accepted. Particularly, students with a specialist in Informatics who have satisfied all the above conditions shall be directly admitted to all disciplines/training programmes except English Language and Pharmacy;
  • Students in family under preferential treatment policy, poor and near poor households, disabled as prescribed by the Prime Minister and have an average GPA in grades 11, 12 or three semesters of high school from 8.0. (In case of the English Language major, it is also a necessity to have an average GPA in English in the first five semesters of 7.5 or higher)
  • Students who have graduated from high school and have one of the following certificates:
  • An internationally recognised English language proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic and Cambridge) of or equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (refer to the equivalent assessment in Table 1); at the same time have the average GPA in the first five semesters of high school of all subjects in one combination of subjects for admission come to a sum of 21 or higher; or
  • A-level certificate with a combination of three exam results in accordance with the corresponding discipline/programme from 60/100 points (C equivalent; PUM range ≥ 60); or
  • Standardised SAT score from 1100/1600 or 1450/2400; as of 31 August 2020
  • Have a full-time bachelor’s degree with the classification of Good or higher; or
  • Foreigners or Vietnamese graduated from foreign high schools or international schools in Vietnam with diploma certification from competent authorities.
  1. Admission using the High School Transcript results:
  • Entrance mark: a sum of 19.5 or higher in the average GPA in the first five semesters of high school of all subjects in one combination of subjects for admission;
  • Entry mark is the sum of the average GPA of the subjects in one accepted combination of subjects; extra credit for internationally recognised English language proficiency certificate (Table 1); and priority points and area point as prescribed.

Enrolment quota, combination of subjects and tuition fees of Phenikaa University in 2020 are summarised in the table below.

 
  1.  Scholarship fund and financial aids:

The Scholarship fund for full-time students entering Phenikaa University in 2020 comes from many sources, including but not limited to funding from Phenikaa Group; sponsorship from member companies of the Phenikaa Group; sponsorship from businesses and partners; sponsorship from successful alumni and other legitimate sources.

In 2020, Phenikaa University officially operates the Phenikaa Scholarship Fund (currently entirely sponsored by Phenikaa Group) with a total value of 50 billion VND.

  1. Scholarship policy:

1.1. Talent scholarship – Free tuition fees for the whole course (worth 80 – 160 million VND) for those who:

  • Are members of the International or Asian Olympiad;
  • Have been awarded First prize in the National Contest for High School Students for Informatics or a subject in a combination of subjects for admission accepted for a discipline/programme.
  • Have been awarded official prizes (First, Second, Third) in the Asian or Intel ISEF.
  • Is the valedictorian whose High School Graduation Exam 2020 results of the subjects in a combination of subjects for admission accepted for the desired discipline/programme come to a sum of 27 or higher; at the same time, whose GPA in grades 10, 11 and 12 are 8.0 or higher.

(Note: Requirement to maintain scholarship status from second year onwards: Having Good academic results or higher)

1.2. Excellence Scholarship – Free tuition fees for the first two years (worth 40-80 million VND) for those who:

  • Are members of the Asian or Intel ISEF;
  • Have been awarded Second or Third prize in the National Contest for High School Students for Informatics or a subject in a combination of subjects for admission accepted for a discipline/programme.
  • Have the High School Graduation Exam 2020 results of the subjects in a combination of subjects accepted for the desired discipline/programme come to a sum of 25.5 or higher; at the same time, whose GPA in grades 10, 11 and 12 are 8.0 or higher.

(Note: Requirement to maintain scholarship status in second year: Having Good academic results or higher in first year)

1.3. Further your future Scholarship – Free tuition fees for the first year (worth 20-40 million VND) for those who:

  • Have been awarded Consolation Prize in the National Contest for High School Students for Informatics or a subject in a combination of subjects for admission accepted for a discipline/programme.
  • Have been awarded First, Second or Third prize in the Provincial Contest for High School Students for Informatics or a subject in a combination of subjects for admission accepted for a discipline/programme.
  • Have the High School Graduation Exam 2020 results of the subjects in a combination of subjects for admission accepted for the desired discipline/programme come to a sum of 24 or higher; at the same time, whose GPA in grades 10, 11 and 12 are 8.0 or higher.
  • GPA in grades 10, 11 and 12 are 8.0 or higher; at the same time, have an internationally recognised English language proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic and Cambridge) of or equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (refer to the equivalent assessment in Table 1) valid as of 31 August 2020;
  • Students in family under preferential treatment policy, poor and near poor households, disabled as prescribed by Decision no.59/2015/QD-TTg and have the High School Graduation Exam 2020 results of the subjects in a combination of subjects accepted for the desired discipline/programme come to a sum of 24 or higher; at the same time, whose GPA in grades 10, 11 and 12 are 8.0 or higher.
  1. Tuition Support Policy:

With the desire to create equal opportunities for students in all circumstances to have access to high-quality higher education; while implementing the orientation of building a non-profit university, in addition to the Talent, Excellence and Further your Future scholarships mentioned above, Phenikaa University and Phenikaa Group will provide a 20% tuition fees support for all students admitted in 2020 and are committed to maintain the same tuition fees throughout the course.

  1. Other supporting policies:
  • All students who apply for direct admission before 30 June 2020 will be given a laptop worth 10 million VND; Students who are eligible for any one of the three scholarships “Talen”, “Excellence” and “Further your future” will also be awarded 01 laptop as above, in addition to all the benefits the scholarship entails; Laptops will be given out following the student’s official enrolment at Phenikaa University;
  • Students who were granted the scholarship certificates in 2019 by the university (when they were in grade 11) are reserved and fully entitled to the scholarship benefits according to said certificate when they enrol into the university in 2020;
  • Students with good academic and training performance will be rewarded and granted scholarships semesterly;
  • 50% discount on dormitory fees for directly admitted students; 100% discount on dormitory fees for students with Excellence or higher Scholarships and students in especially difficult circumstances;
  • The university has preferrable policy for students under preferential treatment policy;
  • The university has policies to encourage students to participate in scientific research from the second year onwards. Unique, creative ideas with high practicality will be funded and researched.
